About the client

Floors of London Ltd sands, refinishes and fits wooden floors across South-East London and has done since 2016. Most of its work comes from word of mouth and good reviews on trade websites. The company needed a website that showed that reputation online and let homeowners ask for a quote without having to ring.

The challenge

Someone looking for floor sanding usually compares three or four companies in one evening, on their phone. They want to see real work, real prices and real reviews. Then they want to ask for a quote in a couple of minutes — ideally by sending a photo of the floor. If a website makes that slow or awkward, they move on to the next one.

For the business, an enquiry is only useful if it actually arrives, carries enough detail to price the job, and can be traced back to the advert that brought it in. A good-looking page that loses enquiries costs more than it earns.

The solution

We designed and built one focused page around one action: "Get a free quote". It walks through the services — sanding and refinishing, parquet restoration, staining and finishes, new floors — with before-and-after photos and short videos labelled by room. A pricing section gives a rough idea of cost, so nobody has to ask "roughly how much?". There are answers to the seven most common questions, a map of the areas covered, and a call or WhatsApp button wherever a visitor might hesitate.

The quote form takes five short steps: what you need, what kind of floor, how many rooms, when, and how to reach you. On the last step the customer can attach up to three photos of the floor, or send a photo over WhatsApp instead. Each enquiry lands in the team's inbox with the photos attached and the customer's email ready to reply to. The customer gets an automatic confirmation, and a copy is kept on the website in case an email goes astray. Spam is filtered out without making real customers solve "I am not a robot" puzzles.

Every testimonial on the site links to a verifiable public review on Google, MyBuilder or Facebook. Behind the scenes, the page is set up so search engines understand what the business does and where, and every enquiry is recorded with the service, floor type and room count — so the owner can see which enquiries came from ads and spend accordingly. We also drew a simple herringbone logo, made the icons and social-sharing images, and took the site live at floorsoflondonltd.co.uk.
