Other Wurlde

About the client

Other Wurlde is the online home of artist Ann Richmond. She paints two series: The Wylde Ones, bold and colourful portraits of wild animals, and Otherwurlde, animal fables full of feeling. Her original paintings and limited-edition prints go straight to collectors in the UK and abroad.

The challenge

An artist's shop has to do two jobs at once. First, it is a gallery. The paintings need space, the colours must look exactly as they do on canvas, and the story behind each series matters as much as the price.

Second, it is a real shop. An original painting exists only once, so it must never be sold twice. Prints come in different editions and sizes. And every order has to travel safely to the UK or abroad, with clear information about customs.

The solution

We built an online shop that feels like walking through a gallery. Visitors browse by series, see large photos with true colours, and read a short introduction to each collection. Paintings and prints sit side by side, so a collector can go from a painting to its print in one click.

The shop also takes care of the details. When an original sells, it disappears from the shop, so no one can buy it twice. Prints are offered in their exact editions and sizes. Every UK order ships with tracking, and buyers abroad see a plain note about duties before they pay. As Ann's body of work grew, we refreshed the design to give it more room, and we look after the site whenever a new series arrives.
