Banski Samun
A bread-reservation site that tells an artisan bakery exactly what to bake tomorrow, by 10:00 today — we believe the first of its kind for a bakery in Europe
About the client
Майстор Пекар „Бански Самунъ“ is a small sourdough bakery in Bansko. It bakes three breads a day for locals and for the town's ski tourists. Kordevi designed and built its website in Bulgarian and English and the reservation system behind it, in stages: daily reservations first; payments, subscriptions and delivery next; then a link to the till and stock.
The challenge
Sourdough takes a full day to make, so it cannot be baked to order. Every morning the bakery had to guess. Bake too little and regulars walk away with nothing. Bake too much and loaves are left over. The only way to reserve a loaf was to phone — and someone had to pick up between kneading and serving customers.
We looked at ready-made booking plugins and turned them down. Hidden renewal fees, poor support for two languages, and far too much machinery for what is really three breads and a daily pickup — which still has to grow into payments and subscriptions later without starting over.
The solution
We built a reservation system made specifically for the bakery. Customers reserve in three easy steps — choose your bread, add extras, leave your details — with a basket, a live "how many left" badge for each bread and each day, a "bread of the day" that changes daily, and a half-finished reservation that is still there if the page is refreshed. Each bread has its own daily number of loaves available online. Same-day reservations close at 10:00, the counters reset overnight, and customers pay when they collect.
The bakery runs the day from its own simple staff screen on the tablet at the counter — no complicated admin. It shows today's and tomorrow's reservations, a printable baking list totalled by bread, customer search, quick status changes, a 15-second entry for phone reservations and a way to change tomorrow's numbers per bread. Opening hours follow a weekly schedule the baker can override with one tap, and closure notices (holidays, a week off) appear on the site and in the reservation form automatically. New reservations arrive by email and Telegram.
Underneath are the things that make it dependable: spam protection, a log of which reservation changed and which team member changed it (never customer details), full Bulgarian translations and a set-up that helps Google find the bakery. The four-page site carries the bakery's brown-and-cream look, and on day one we also checked the site's speed and fixed the first issues within hours.
