Navway
An online car-audio store where the catalogue looks after itself and shoppers find what fits by typing in their number plate
About the product
Navway is an online store owned by Kordevi, selling in-car multimedia and navigation units to drivers in the UK. It is also where we try out everything we recommend to our e-commerce clients — instant pages, a catalogue that keeps itself up to date, a store that answers the customer's real question — before we suggest it to anyone else.
The challenge
Car-audio catalogues are big, technical and change every week. Hundreds of units, each with screen sizes, memory options, left- and right-hand-drive versions and, above all, a list of cars they fit. Keeping that up to date by hand is a full-time job. And an ordinary online-shop template is not fast enough, or visible enough on Google, for a competitive UK market.
The shopper's question is never "which product?" but "will it fit my car?". If the store cannot answer that straight away, people leave for the big marketplaces that can.
The solution
We built the store "headless" — the shop-window and the stockroom are separate systems. The stockroom is a proven, widely used shop system that holds the products, prices, orders, taxes and delivery. In front of it we built a brand-new shop-window, so product, category and search pages open instantly and show any change to the catalogue within seconds. Basket, checkout and card payments work the way shoppers expect.
The catalogue keeps itself up to date using Sinkro.ai, our own tool. Every Monday it takes the supplier's current range, adds new products and updates existing ones — including all their versions — and rewrites the sales descriptions so they read well, while keeping every technical detail (screen size, memory, software version, which cars it fits) exactly as it is.
Then we answer the "will it fit?" question. A shopper types in their UK registration plate — the store looks the car up in the official DVLA vehicle register — or picks make, model and year. The chosen car then follows them around the store and shows only the units that fit. The team keeps the fitment lists up to date from a simple admin screen.
